About The Arabic Research Institute

The Arabic Research Institute is an independent digital humanities academic organisation which is undertaking research in Arabic, linguistics, and literary analysis through computational and corpus-based methods.

The Institute develops and maintains open-access scholarly resources, including the Encyclopedia of Arabic Rhetoric, the Balagha Score, the Balagha Corpus, and BalaghaBase.org, which aim to advance the quantitative and digital study of Arabic literature.

It is also working to promote the novel quantitative linguitics metric Rhetorical Density, which can be used to assess the rhetoricity of texts in any language, and not only Arabic.

The Institute's mission is to bridge classical Arabic scholarship with modern digital tools, promoting accessible and data-driven approaches to Arabic rhetorical studies.
